Tyler was diagnosed with cancer when he was 4 years of age. In his introductory video, Tyler said he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.) at 4 1/2 years of age. His mom found out about his illness while one day they went out for dinner, Tyler turned pale. So the instinct of the mother said, “Let me get him to the emergency room.” When the doctors looked at his blood, they came up with the result that he was suffering from cancer.

Tyler has been treated with chemotherapy for three years and has been shown to be in remission for almost three and a half years. Chemotherapy treatment resulted in a hair loss that made him sad and embarrassed to go to school. The children used to scare him and laugh at him because he was different. They would stay away from him and say that his cancer was contagious.

He was strong, and he didn’t let the negative vibrations affect him and break him. He struggled with cancer at an early age, dealt with bullies, and had to go through a lot of hardships. He’s a brave child, and he’s a great inspiration to all of us.

After a break from school, he used to do street performances in downtown Raleigh NC to make money for his trip. Tyler’s mom revealed that he first discovered a violin after seeing a school flyer for free after-school violin lessons.
