Gardell was born in the United States, in the city of Pittsburgh. William Gardell Jr. was born in the United States on August 20, 1969. There isn’t much information on Billy’s siblings or mother. Following his parents’ divorce, he moved to Florida with his younger sister, brother, and mother. However, there aren’t much specifics regarding his father.

Billy Gardell began working at the age of 15 due to his family’s difficulties. He began his career unloading trucks and stacking pallets in the reception section of a department store warehouse. He then moved on to work as a cleaner, where he was in charge of cleaning the restrooms. He also started working at Bonkerz, a local comedy club, where he was in charge of phone calls.
